Dev-Thane 5 urethane adhesive bonds rubber or metal to glass, concrete, or wood without the use of a primer. It also bonds EPS to foam, foam to ABS, and aluminum to aluminum, and cures at room temperature to a flexible bond (maximum
elongation 200%/ASTM D412) with a hardness of 63 Shore D (ASTM D2240).
When mixed, Dev-Thane 5 two-part adhesive becomes a thixotropic paste with a pot life of 5 min. A pound covers 94 sq-in. at a 1¼4-in. thickness. Its 100% solids formulation produces no VOC emissions.
Fixture time is 15 min, and functional cure is 3 hr. When cured, the adhesive produces a tensile strength of 2,100 psi and tear resistance of 400 pli (ASTM D624) and withstands service temperatures up to 180° F dry, 120° F wet.
