Micro-Vu Corporation has introduced two new sizes of its new Sol Vision System. The 315mm x 315mm x 160mm and 315mm x 315mm x 250mm machines provide four times more capacity that the smaller model released last year. The Sol measurement systems bridge the gap between manual video machines and automated multi-sensor CMMs. The Sol is primarily used for dimensional measurement and inspection of medical devices, precision machined parts, precision plastics, electronics, LCD, and solar applications.
The Sol Vision Systems implement new technologies to increase speed and accuracy on a reliable and affordable measuring machine. The Sol features a programmable zoom lens, digital camera, and proprietary edge detection technology of InSpec Metrology Software. The Sol also features programmable multi-segment lighting, 6.5x optical magnification, 3x digital magnification, non-linear calibration of the stage and optics calibration, lights calibration, and compatibility with automated systems.
The InSpec Metrology Software allows an operator to easily control zoom and light zoom settings as well as the placement and size of vision tools. Vision tools are faster, more accurate, and easier to use than the manual point selection or of points. InSpec includes standard and advanced geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. Reports of measurements are created automatically while the Log View displays a succinct list of features that are in and out of tolerance. Video images and measurement data are easily captured and stored. Micro-Vu's InSpec Metrology Software is the result of 20 years of customer input and software development.
