ITI Tooling’s “Rapid Change” tooling system offers a fast and safe way to exchange tools on CNC lathes. Swappable heads, static or driven, can be rapidly exchanged in as little as 7 seconds, drastically reducing set-up and tool change times. Using a standard Allen wrench, a half turn to the left with our patented cam-lock device releases a swappable head and a half turn to the right secures a new one. A tool holder that was formerly dedicated to one operation now becomes a variety of tool styles.
There’s more. The single cam-lock device faces the machine operator every time the turret indexes and the live tool stops. The operator does not have to lean into the machine and risk injury rotating sharp or broken tools like on most other modular systems. ITI Tooling’s “Rapid Change” system is well accepted by a variety of manufacturers and has proven to be fast, safe, rugged, yet a cost effective way to expand tooling capabilities. “Rapid Change” tooling is available with VDI and BMT Bolt-on style tooling.
