Clearwater, Florida – Metal brush commutated FAULHABER motors, 1024…SR series, are available with a diameter of 10mm. In combination with a gearhead, its output torque can achieve 300mNm. With a superior torque/speed ratio (flat slope), the motor can handle varying loads at reduced speed variations with smooth control. This performance is achieved with very low noise and vibration levels. A wide range of matching speed and motion controllers, encoders, and gearheads allow for optimal adaption in high-demand applications like portable devices or optical equipment.
The significant power and torque enhancement is based on a redesign of nearly all of the motor’s elements, including a new coil, commutation system, and magnet. This results in markedly wider speed range under load, delivering a continuous torque of 1.5mNm at 7,500rpm and exhibiting an output power above 3W. The voltage range is between 6V and 12V.
A wide range of combination elements helps to transform the motor’s power into high-end performance. It can be joined with either a magnetic or optical encoder when electromagnetic interference has to be excluded. The optional combination with a 12/4 planetary gearhead – the only one of its kind on the market – delivers the highest power output levels available with motors of this class. Another feature is the length of the encoder-motor-gearhead combination, which can remain below 51mm in a 4-stage reduction configuration. The optional zero backlash spur gearhead eliminates rotating play and grants high accuracy at a competitive price. The 1024…SR series provides extended lifetime by integrating spark suppression circuitry that minimizes the degrading effect on brushes and the collector. The resulting clean commutation signal also enhances the accuracy of motor control.
The 1024…SR dc motor is ideal for high-demand applications, and its ability to offer high performance with small dimensions and low weight make it a good choice for all portable devices. Its low vibration levels enable its use in high accuracy applications, such as in optical equipment or high precision tools. An optional ball bearing version makes it also suitable for applications with radial loads. In addition, the motor is available with a second shaft end in a vacuum and in an extended temperature range version (-30°C to + 125°C).
