Hi-Tech 400

Designed for heavy-duty machining, common in the energy and general machining industries, the Hi-Tech 400 from Hwacheon Machinery features a high-power, high-torque spindle drive achieving 2,500rpm (22/18.5kW). The tailstock has a quill diameter of 3.94”, and a stroke of 120mm (4.72").

With turret indexing time of 0.35 seconds per position and rapid feed in X and Z of 20m/min, the Hi-Tech 400 adds speed to its heavy-duty cutting capability, making it well-suited to oil and gas component production as well as aerospace and general machining work.

Users will find it easy to add a high-speed turnmill or a sub spindle capability.

The Hi-TECH 400 has an integrated, rigid 45° slanting cast iron bed/frame to minimize heat distortion during heavy machining. The precision-polished, wide guide surface and the rigid bed design absorb vibration, supporting high precision during hard turning. All guide surfaces are hand-scraped and rectangular to assure rigidity and accuracy in prolonged operation.

For consistent turning results during heavy cutting, the servo motor is coupled directly to the shaft without a driveline such as a gearbox or a belt, eliminating the backlash which can otherwise occur during a feed.
