Datron C5 for Simultaneous Five-Axis Milling
The Datron C5 was developed for precision milling of small parts with a single clamping operation. With its ability to machine titanium and steel, the C5 is suited to five-axis applications within the medical industry. Material blanks up to 60mm in diameter can be milled with simultaneous five-axis capability, allowing for the machining of highly complex geometries.
Excellent surface quality is achieved through the rigid, low-vibration design of the DATRON C5. The rotary swivel axis driven by dynamic torque motors yields high reproducibility and process reliability.
High cutting performance can be achieved with its 1.8 kW high-speed precision spindle with up to 48,000rpm. High-quality ball screws and guides with built-in Heidenhain linear scales provide for very high precision. The automatic tool changer has 22 stations and an integrated tool-length measuring system. The C5’s short setup times and low energy consumption of less than 2.5 kWh average results in efficiency and R.O.I. And all this with a footprint of only 1 m2. This machine fits through a standard 36” door.
