Announced on Thursday, September 24,2009, by Muff Tanriverdi, president of Walter North America and Mark Hemmerling, marketing manager for Walter North America, is that effective immediately, the Valenite brand will be integrated into the Walter brand structure, and will be known as the Walter Valenite Competence Brand under Walter North America.
The official press release of this move will be forthcoming, but following is what was stated during the media press conference.
“Walter and Valenite are proud to announce the following organizational developments in an effort to expand a value proposition for our channel partners and our enduser customers. Our customers will benefit from a broader and more innovative product range, as well as expanded technical service and support. So starting now, until January 1, 2010, the Valenite brand will be integrated into the Walter brand structure, and shall [from this point forward be known as the] Walter Valenite Competence Brand. MODCO will become a Technology Brand under the Walter Valenite Competence Brand.
“Walter is the corporate brand from a company stand point, in which Walter has three Competence Brands: Walter Valenite for indexable products; Walter Titex for high speed carbide drilling and reaming products; and then Walter Prototyp for high speed and carbide threading products as well as milling products. And, with each of these Competence Brands, we have our Technology Brands, like Tiger-Tec, Xtratec, and now we also including the MODCO facet from Valenite, as well [our other tool].
“[In addition,] Muff Tanriverdi, president of Walter North American will be responsible for these combined operations. Tanriverdi will work to bring together the best of both organizations in order to further expand our role as leaders in innovation and technology, dedication to customer value, and continuous improvement.”
