Harleysville, Pennsylvania – Pittman Motors, a manufacturer of customized DC brush motors, brushless motors, and gear motors, has introduced the Pittman E30C and E30D optical incremental encoders to satisfy the demands of volume original equipment manufacturers for encoders in precision-motion control applications.
The E30C and E30D encoders are small in diameter and low-profile, yet offer high resolutions and multichannel outputs. The E30C and E30D are 5V, 2 and 3 channel optical encoders and available in 64 different configurations.
The modular encoder package is a compact 30mm x 8mm size with alternate mounting arrangements. Connections are provided thru a locking radial or optional axial connector. The E30C and E30D encoders operate from -20°C to 85°C and weigh 5.6g.
The E30C encoder has resolutions of 200, 250, 256, 400, or 500. It outputs two-channel quadrature signals that are TTL compatible. Operating frequency is 40kHz (200CPR to 500CPR).
The E30D has resolutions of 500; 512; 1,000; 1,024; 2,000; or 2,048. It outputs two-channel quadrature signals that are TTL compatible, with an optional third channel index output. Complementary outputs also are available. Operating frequency is 55kHz (500CPR to 512 CPR), 110kHz (1,000CPR to 1,024 CPR), or 220kHz (2,000CPR to 2,048 CPR).
The E30C and E30D encoders are available in kit form and adapt to many Pittman motors. Prototype encoders are available now on request.
Pittman is part of the AMETEK Precision Motion Control division.
