PCX Aerostructures expands precision metal machining capacity

Cam-Tech Mfg. division installs machining center to produce large format aircraft parts at Texas facility.

Mansfield, Texas – Cam-Tech Manufacturing, a division of PCX Aerostructures LLC, has completed installation of a new machining center allowing for expanded production of high quality, large format aircraft parts at its Texas facility.

The T1 Makino 5-axis machining center allows for added versatility and continued efficiencies, yielding innovative processing of hard alloy components for a variety of aerospace platforms. Boasting a work envelope of 59" x 51" x 78," the latest capital investment from PCX Aerostructures lends additional strength to the firm’s range of capabilities.

“We are excited about this new addition to our PCX operations and have configured the machining center for lights-out operation, delivering high precision machining of hard alloys,” said Alan L. Haase, president and CEO of PCX Aerostructures.

This latest addition allows for enhanced accuracy, reduced cycle times, and extensive automation features when machining large structures and aligns with PCX’s goal of continued growth and expansion to support the aerospace industry.

On March 17, 2016, company officials announced completion of the facility expansion at Cam-Tech Manufacturing’s Texas division. The addition of more than 15,000ft2 increased assembly capabilities and provided additional space for newly acquired capital equipment.
