Oerlikon Balzers is a major coating supplier to the aerospace industry, offering thin film PVD and PACVD coatings.

Oerlikon Balzers’ BALINIT Turbine Pro coating, developed in cooperation with industry partners, offers erosion and corrosion resistance for compressor blades in turbofan and turboshaft engines. Designed as an integral part of the system, it helps to meet fuel efficiency goals by retaining the surface profile and roughness of components such as blades and integral bladed discs.

Oerlikon Balzers’ BALINIT C, a metal-doped DLC coating for gear components, offers wear and scuffing resistance, while reducing friction. It is suitable for dry lubrication, which increases the load carrying capability of the gear.
