Jan Hennecke, a native of Germany, has distinguished himself in both academics and athletics. As a young rower, he achieved notable success by winning the Junior World Championships in Rowing. Pursuing higher education, he relocated to the United States at 18, enrolling at Northeastern University. There, he skillfully balanced his studies with a continued passion for rowing.

Hennecke's professional journey began in the field of mechanical engineering. His early career involved a role at Festo, focusing on Laboratory Automation. He further expanded his expertise in robotics and automation during his tenure as an application engineer at Vention.

Currently, Hennecke holds a pivotal position at igus, serving as the low-cost automation product manager. Residing in Boston, Massachusetts, he indulges in outdoor activities such as biking and hiking in his leisure time, along with a personal interest in robotics.
