Hy-Tech Machine Inc., a Cranberry Twp., Pennsylvania-based manufacturer of engineered products, tools, and replacement parts, has acquired the assets of NUMATX Inc., maker of aerospace grade C-squeezer and alligator squeezer riveters.
“Hy-Tech sells a wide range of products, tools, and parts under a number of well-respected brand names,” observes Douglas Ciabotti, president of Hy-Tech. “With the addition of NUMATX, we’ll add an entirely new product category that aligns perfectly with our engineered solutions approach as well as with our existing brands and gives us a strong point of entry into the aerospace industry. The NUMATX patented rivet system is an innovative approach to compression riveting and we’re excited to welcome them to our family.”
NUMATX was founded in 2011 by Mark Swinford, an aeronautical engineer with more than 30 years’ experience in the design and manufacture of aerospace structures, systems, and tooling. Swinford joins Hy-Tech as vice president of business development – global aerospace.
Hy-Tech provides engineered solutions and re-engineering services to many original equipment manufacturers as well as complete industrial air tools; more than 20,000 replacement parts for brands including Ingersoll Rand, Chicago Pneumatic, and Cleco; hydrostatic testing plugs for pipe, tubing, and pressure vessels; and gears, sprockets, and splined shafts.
Lighter, quieter, and more compact, NUMATX riveters have become a favorite of homebuilt aircraft enthusiasts and many commercial aerospace companies including Delta Airlines, Barnes Aerospace, Northrop Grumman, and Honda Aircraft.
“NUMATX riveters feature constant force over the entire stroke range. Since they’re fully hydraulic at the forming head portion, they’re more compact than traditional pneumatic-only units, so they reduce operator fatigue and improve product quality,” Ciabotti says.
