Pylon Aviation, an independent aircraft company based in Chandler, Ariz., has placed an order with American Eurocopter for six new AS350 helicopters valued at $20 million. The order is for two AS350B3e aircraft and four AS350B2s.
For nearly 20 years, Pylon Aviation has worked as a full-service aviation company that specializes in all aspects of operating aircraft, especially Eurocopter helicopters. The company helps individual operators navigate flight instruction and hire pilots, outfit helicopters with avionics and customized equipment and interiors, and maintain the aircraft.
“We offer customer service and whole solutions, walking clients through every single step of the process, from start to finish,” says Scott Urschel, president of Pylon Aviation.
Urschel flew his first Eurocopter helicopter 25 years ago and said he was quickly hooked. “I tell my clients the B3e is unquestionably the best light single engine turbine helicopter on the market,” he said. “There is no doubt. It is an amazing helicopter.”
“We are grateful to Pylon and Scott Urschel for the loyalty and confidence they have shown in our helicopters and in our company,” says Anthony DiNota, vice president of commercial sales, marketing and customer support for American Eurocopter.
The A350B3e is the latest update to Eurocopter’s top-selling single engine aircraft. It is equipped with a new Turbomeca Arriel 2D engine with a dual digital engine control system. This engine offers increased reliability and decreased maintenance costs and is fitted with an engine data recorder. The AS350 B3e cockpit, with its dual LCD-screen vehicle and engine multifunction display (VEMD), allows the pilot to check at a glance key aircraft performance parameters, reducing pilot workload and enhancing operational safety.
