Embraer Aero Seating Technologies opens new manufacturing facility

Titusville, Florida plant will produce seats for the company’s business and commercial jets.

Titusville, Florida – Embraer inaugurated a new 50,000ft2 manufacturing facility for its premium seating solutions subsidiary, Embraer Aero Seating Technologies (EAST), in Titusville, Florida. The operation will soon start production of seats dedicated to the company’s business and commercial aviation products, including the seats for the first-class cabin of its next generation commercial aircraft family, the E-Jets E2

The ceremony included Brevard County and Titusville officials, in addition to Florida Gov. Rick Scott, who has been involved with this project since first announcing it in June of 2015, at the 51st International Paris Air Show, and participating in the groundbreaking ceremony in September 2015.

Embraer’s partners on this project include Enterprise Florida, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast, and the North Brevard Economic Development Zone.

The EAST facility represents Embraer’s forth expansion project on the Space Coast since the company announced its intentions to assemble executive jets in Florida in 2008. Embraer’s facilities, combining Melbourne and Titusville, now total approximately 500,000ft2, comprised of production, engineering, sales, customer support, and administrative offices.

“Having spent nearly 50 years designing and developing aircraft for various markets, Embraer recognizes the distinct importance of the aircraft seat, the ultimate customer touch point. That’s why we made the strategic decision to bring this expertise in-house,” said Embraer President & CEO Paulo Cesar de Souza e Silva.

Gov. Scott said, “Embraer’s new facility and their creation of 150 new jobs in Titusville is great news for Florida families. It is exciting that they have many projects in Brevard County and have created over 1,000 jobs throughout Florida.”

Hiring has commenced for the Titusville location, with positions available in management, quality control, upholstery, and assembly. Candidates are encouraged to apply online at www.embraer.com.

Embraer completed its acquisition of Aero Seating Technologies in June, 2015, creating a wholly owned subsidiary called Embraer Aero Seating Technologies (EAST). Embraer progressively acquired its ownership stake in the company, beginning in 2011. With headquarters in Irwindale, California, EAST provides premium seating solutions for the aviation industry, featuring high quality, ergonomic comfort and lightweight construction, with innovative designs and features for the ultimate cabin experience.
