For the first time, the manufacturer AURA AERO (EU) presented to the American public its two-seater training aircraft with aerobatic capabilities, INTEGRAL R, during the Sun ‘n Fun air show in Florida.
The U.S. is a major market for INTEGRAL, being the largest training market, with nearly 600 FAA approved flight schools, more than 75,000 pilots, and a growing demand for modern, cost-effective training aircraft with aerobatic capabilities. With FAA certification underway, the INTEGRAL family of aircraft offers an advanced, efficient solution for both traditional and electric flight training, making it a strong contender in the U.S. market.
At the show, Jérémy Caussade, president & co-founder, the commercial team, led by Drew McEwen, chief commercial officer, and Antoine Blin, chief of staff, presented their recently certified side-by-side two-seater latest generation aircraft, designed for training, leisure, and aerobatics.
INTEGRAL R was certified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) last December, and deliveries to the first European customers are starting in March, while FAA certification is expected this year. Mike Goulian, American aerobatics champion, is the official ambassador for INTEGRAL in North America.
The INTEGRAL range offers 3 models, for the most complete flight experience:
● INTEGRAL R, designed for aerobatics: tailwheel and thermal single-engine piston (SEP) engine / EASA certified / FAA certification expected by the end of 2025 / European deliveries starting in March this year;
● INTEGRAL S, designed for training and leisure: nosewheel and thermal SEP engine / EASA certification and first deliveries expected in H2 this year;
● INTEGRAL E, the full-electric version of R and S: currently performing its flight test campaign / certification expected in 2026.
Powered by Lycoming (thermal version) or Safran ENGINeUS (electric version), adapted for upset prevention and recovery training (UPRT) and visual flight rules (VFR) training, INTEGRAL is a reliable, high-performing and safe aircraft, suited for civil and military use. INTEGRAL boasts on-board avionics that are outstanding for this type of aircraft, enabling pilots to access all the data to analyze their flights and benefit from predictive maintenance to anticipate breakdowns. INTEGRAL is also the first aircraft in its category to feature a whole aircraft rescue parachute.
The European manufacturer is currently expanding its footprint in the United States, with the opening this summer of a hangar at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Research Park in Florida for the assembly, delivery, and customer support of INTEGRAL aircraft for the U.S. market, in the frame of a partnership with the world’s leading aeronautical university.
At AERO Friedrichshafen, the exclusive body responsible for airworthiness safety in France issued AURA AERO the finalized POA (Production Organization Agreement - Rating A), for the entire INTEGRAL family.
After having received agreements PART 21G (production) in November 2021 and PART 21J (industrial design) in September 2023, followed by EASA certification for INTEGRAL R last December, AURA AERO consolidates, with Rating A, its status as an aircraft manufacturer and holds now all necessary authorizations to launch series deliveries of its two-seater trainer with aerobatic capabilities.
Three months after the certification of its INTEGRAL R aircraft, AURA AERO officialized reception of the first INTEGRAL R by Dijon Voltige, a French aerobatics club, which becomes the launch customer for this aircraft.
INTEGRAL R performed its first flight in June 2020, at Toulouse-Francazal airport. Tests, as part of the certification campaign, ended in November 2024 and EASA certification was delivered December 18, 2024. Series production was launched straight after, with a target production rate of 15 aircraft in 2025.
