INTEGRAL E, the electric version of AURA AERO’s two-seater aircraft designed for training, aerobatics, and leisure, made its first flight December 3, 2024 at Toulouse-Francazal airport in France.
Taking advantage of light winds and favorable weather conditions, the first prototype of INTEGRAL E, registered F-WIAE, took off at 8:48 CET.
AURA AERO thanks all its partners and suppliers including The Occitanie Region, France 2030, Safran, EDF, Garmin, EPS, and Duc Hélices, for contributing to this success.
Upon its entry in service, INTEGRAL E will have a range of around one hour and a supercharging capacity, under 30 minutes. The cost per flight hour is expected to be halved, compared to that of a thermal aircraft in its category.
The INTEGRAL aircraft, awaited by flying clubs and training schools, boasts an orderbook of several hundred aircraft, in the three versions. INTEGRAL E will also be available in a glider tow-plane version. The first deliveries of INTEGRAL R are scheduled to start at the beginning of 2025, and the entry in service of the electric version is scheduled in 2026, after two years of flight tests.
Jérémy Caussade, president and co-founder of AURA AERO, said: “The first flight of INTEGRAL E is a huge step forward, not only because the INTEGRAL family is now complete, but also because this aircraft is one of the first to address, in an electric version, many of the needs expressed by training schools and flying clubs. We are very proud of what we have achieved in six years and of the commercial success of the INTEGRAL family.”
Founded in 2018, AURA AERO is based at Toulouse-Francazal airport and employs nearly 250 people. Having obtained design and production agreements, the company confirms its status as a fully recognized aircraft manufacturer.
AURA AERO is supported by the Occitanie Region, the BPI (French Public Investment Bank) and venture capital firm Innovacom.
Laureate of the European fund EIC Accelerator and of the France 2030 program, AURA AERO is a member of the steering committee of AZEA (Alliance for Zero Emission Aviation), and is one of the 16 founder-companies of the European Future Mobility Taskforce.
