Grand Rapids, Michigan-based Ascential Technologies, a global provider of automated diagnostic, inspection, assembly and test systems and services across a wide range of industries, has created an Aerospace & Industrials business unit within the Test & Measurement Systems (T&M) division of Ascential Technologies. The new Aerospace & Industrials business unit incorporates a wide range of aviation and other industrial test stands and equipment with a concerted focus on the aerospace industry.
Ascential Technologies has a rich history of providing advanced and sustainable test stands that improve engineering and business results. Its expert engineering teams support customers at every stage of the value chain, spanning design, manufacturing and ongoing support to deliver reliable equipment for OEMs, MROs and other integrators. Additionally, it specializes in customized and standardized innovative designs to meet each customer’s unique testing requirements, with aerospace testing solutions covering aircraft accessories, electrical, electrical-mechanical, engines, fuel, hydraulic, pneumatics and more.
“We have worked with aerospace companies for years and our team is dedicated to helping our aerospace segment soar, focusing on quality, safety, and reliability above all else,” said Scott Watts, CEO of Ascential Technologies’ Test & Measurement Systems division. “At the end of the day, our goal is to drive added value for our customers and help them with their most critical projects where the cost of failure is high.”
Leveraging its strengths and expertise, Ascential Technologies can support commercial and defense aerospace needs, with aerospace test equipment capabilities spanning:
- Balancing (rotors, transmission wheels, shafts, etc.)
- Electrical testing
- Hydraulic test stands
- Leak detection
- Non-destructive testing
- Powertrain testing: torque, power, transmission
- Vibration measurement
- Machine and product performance analytics
The Aerospace & Industrials business unit joins Transportation (also known as Burke Porter) under the Test & Measurement Systems division, which was introduced following a reorganization in August 2024.
“At Ascential Technologies we continue to realign our structure as needed to ensure we’re providing clarity to the market, and best positioning ourselves to meet our customers’ needs,” Watts said. “Just as we saw significant growth opportunity to expand our technical and innovation capabilities with the introduction of T&M, we see substantial potential for our Aerospace & Industrials business unit – the sky’s the limit.”
The company is broadening its test stand and automation offerings through Ascentialytics – its machine performance and product quality data platform. Ascentialytics is a robust data analytics platform designed to seamlessly integrate into a wide range of instruments and equipment, enabling real-time insights and data-driven decision-making. The platform simplifies the collection, storage and analysis of data, offering anomaly detection and customizable reporting. With an easy-to-use, visual interface, users can leverage powerful data insights without the need for expertise in complex data science.
