Ascent Aerospace acquires Gemcor

Bolsters assembly line integration portfolio with automated fastening systems expertise.


Santa Ana, California & West Seneca, New York – Ascent Aerospace,  an AIP Aerospace company and integrator of aircraft assembly line solutions, has bolstered its automated assembly capabilities with the addition of Gemcor, a developer and manufacturer of automated fastening systems.
 
Gemcor systems are used in the sub-assembly of aircraft wings, fuselages, and nacelles with the company having produced more than 2,200 automated fastening systems throughout its 78-year history.
 
“Being part of the Ascent Aerospace family will give Gemcor access to additional technical and engineering resources as well as accelerated internal investment enabling us to further expand our product offering while continuing to provide our customers with the excellent service they have come to expect,” said Bill Mangus, Gemcor president and chief executive officer. “The combination of the complementary capabilities and technologies of Gemcor and Ascent will also broaden Ascent’s ability to offer new solutions across our combined customer base.”

The transaction is expected to close during the first quarter of 2016.
