Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX), an event dedicated to aircraft cabin innovation, returns to Halls B1-B7 at the Hamburg Messe, Germany, from April 8-10, 2025. The three-day show will provide the platform for airlines and cabin interiors professionals across the global supply chain to shape the cabin concepts of the future.
The aircraft interiors industry market size is set to reach $8.83 billion by 2030, with the driving factors including a growing commitment to sustainability, inclusivity, and enhanced passenger experiences. With the 2024 edition of the show welcoming over 12,000 attendees from across the globe, including representatives from 166 airlines, AIX 2025 is set to continue be at the forefront of the industry’s innovation. This year’s show will place a significant emphasis on two critical themes: sustainability and accessibility, highlighting the industry’s dedication to creating a more responsible and inclusive future for air travel.
AIX offers an opportunity for aircraft interior professionals to explore more than 1,000 products, connect with industry leaders, and gain valuable insights into the future of air travel.
Key trends for 2025
The urgency to address climate change has placed sustainability at the top of the aviation sector agenda. Airlines worldwide are setting ambitious Net Zero targets and AIX 2025 will provide a crucial platform for highlighting the innovations that will make these goals achievable. Exhibitors will present a wide array of sustainable solutions, from lightweight materials and bio-based plastics to energy-efficient lighting systems and advanced cabin air management technologies.
These innovations are not merely incremental improvements; they represent a fundamental shift in how aircraft cabins are designed and manufactured, prioritizing environmental responsibility at every stage of the process. Attendees can expect to see demonstrations of circular economy principles in action, with exhibitors showcasing products designed for recyclability and reuse. The focus on sustainable materials will extend beyond the cabin itself, encompassing everything from seat fabrics and carpets to galley equipment and lavatory components.
Accessibility is another paramount consideration for the future of air travel. Creating a truly inclusive travel experience for all passengers, regardless of their physical abilities, is a key driver of innovation. AIX 2025 will display a range of accessibility-focused solutions, including adaptive seating systems, wheelchair securement devices and accessible lavatory designs. Exhibitors will also demonstrate advancements in sensory accessibility, such a tactile signage and audio descriptions, ensuring that all passengers can navigate the cabin environment with ease.
AIX 2025 will also highlight the latest trends in passenger comfort and well-being. The demand for enhanced in-flight experiences is driving innovation in areas such as seating design, in-flight entertainment, and cabin environment. Exhibitors will showcase ergonomic seating solutions that prioritize passenger comfort and support, with features like adjustable lumbar support, integrated massage functions and personalized climate control.
In-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) continue to be a major focus at AIX, with the market consistently growing and set to reach $11.7 billion by 2029. Passengers today expect seamless connectivity and a wide range of entertainment options, and airlines are investing heavily in IFEC technologies to meet these demands.
AIX will feature a dedicated IFEC Zone, showcasing the latest advancements in satellite connectivity, wireless streaming, and personalized entertainment systems. Over 60 exhibitors will showcase their latest solutions and products in this year’s IFEC Zone at Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX). Companies will also present the latest innovations in machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, e-commerce, lighting, and LED technology.
CabinSpace Live, the show’s dedicated conference program, offers a series of insightful sessions on the key trends and challenges facing the aircraft interiors industry. Experts from airlines, manufacturers, and industry associations will share their perspectives on topics such as sustainable cabin design, passenger well-being, and the future of IFEC.
The Crystal Cabin Awards, one of the most coveted awards for those within the aircraft interiors industry, will take place on the evening of Tuesday April 8. The recent shortlist highlighted over 20 products across seven award categories, demonstrating the innovation and excellence required to deliver sustainable aircraft with a seamless, comfortable experience for passengers. Winning entries will also be presented at CabinSpace Live the following day.
AIX Connect, the show’s online planning tool, will be available to all attendees, facilitating networking and meeting scheduling. This platform will enable attendees to connect with exhibitors, schedule meetings in advance, and maximize their time at the show.
