Reader Precision Solutions participated in the recent Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) DC Fly-In. Representing the company were Owner and CEO Michael J Reader and Marketing and Brand Manager Ray Reader. The event brought together Wisconsin’s manufacturing and commerce leaders with state and federal government officials to discuss key issues impacting the industry and state economy.
Michael and Ray Reader engaged in discussions with U.S. representatives, senators, Department of Defense officials, U.S. Chamber of Commerce members, and other policymakers. These conversations highlighted the challenges and opportunities facing Wisconsin’s manufacturing sector and explored how federal support can position companies like Reader Precision Solutions as vital contributors to the next era of American manufacturing.
Key topics included:
● Defense Industry Contributions: Leveraging Reader Precision’s and Wisconsin’s capabilities to support the U.S. Department of Defense’s manufacturing needs.
● Supply Chain Resiliency: Strengthening domestic supply chains to reduce reliance on foreign manufacturing and ensure the availability of critical components in the wake of Trump Administration tariff initiatives
● Workforce Development: Addressing the skilled labor shortage through apprenticeships, education initiatives, training programs, and immigration reform.
● Advanced Manufacturing: Promoting innovation through investment in skilled labor and state-of-the-art technology, equipment, software, and facilities.
“The WMC DC Fly-In provided a valuable platform to amplify the voices of Wisconsin manufacturers and ensure our concerns and aspirations are heard at the federal level,” said Michael J Reader. “It’s always an exciting opportunity to have a seat at the same table and collaborate with policymakers to secure a thriving future for our industry during such a transformative era for Wisconsin and American manufacturing.”
“As someone who is as passionate as I and early in my career, this experience has been incredibly humbling and inspiring,” said Ray Reader, marketing and brand manager. “It’s not every day that someone my age has the chance to sit across from key decision-makers and advocate for the future of our industry and state. This opportunity has shown me the importance of getting involved young and paving the way for the next generation to continue advancing our industry and having our voices heard.”
Reader Precision Solutions emphasized its commitment to advancing precision machining as a cornerstone of U.S. manufacturing excellence. By fostering strong partnerships between the private and public sectors, the company aims to help position Wisconsin as a leader in the national manufacturing renaissance.
