The joint venture between GE Aerospace (through GE Aerospace Poland) and Lufthansa Technik, XEOS, will begin servicing LEAP engines manufactured by CFM Int’l, the 50-50 joint business between GE Aerospace and Safran Aircraft Engines.
XEOS, in Środa Śląska, Poland, was initially established to perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) for GEnx-2B and GE9X engines. The 35,000m2 (376,737ft2) facility, which began operation in 2019, features a repair hall, training center, and test cell.
“With the aviation sector reaching full recovery, we’ll be ready to support the ever-growing need for LEAP engine services,” says Rob Burton, XEOS site leader.
XEOS is actively recruiting technicians and talent in the region, with more than 60 employees currently in place. The company plans to increase employees to more than 100 by next year, when XEOS is scheduled to induct its first LEAP-1B engine powering the Boeing 737 MAX family. https://www.geaerospace.com; https://www.lufthansa-technik.com; https://xeos-aero.kariera.pro
