Valenite LLC introduces its new turning grade, VP9605 with MicroForm technology, specifically designed for difficult-to-machine materials and the aerospace industry in semi-finishing to finishing applications.
VP9605 improves production cost savings on average by 35% with no loss of tool life, and works exceptionally well in demanding environments such as corrosive applications, continuous duty cycles, elevated temperatures and pressures, high precision, and zero tolerance for failure.
MicroForm technology is a special carbide grade technology of powder preparation and sintering, providing the capability to direct-press inserts with a uniform micrograin structure. This hard carbide grade with a homogenous grain structure is free of inclusions and cubic carbides - a potential source of crack propagation that leads to chipping. It maintains sharp edge conditions in work hardening materials.
VP9605 was developed to offer versatility on difficult-to-machine workpiece materials including hardened steels, heat-resistant super alloys, titanium, as well as aluminum and non-ferrous materials. This turning grade also works well in die-and-mold turning and boring applications, as well as finish and light roughing applications. VP9605 is also an alternative to CBN, especially for hard materials machining.
