ZGF-S-Cut thread mills produce self-locking threads in nickel alloys, titanium, and stainless steel.
A left-hand helix flute design with left-hand spindle rotation enhances stability and cutting performance. The first cutting tooth acts as a rougher while the second and third teeth finish the thread profile, reducing cycle time and increasing tool life. TiAlN-T46 coating resists heat and wear. The thread mills are available in 16 sizes from #2-56 up to 1/2"-20 for UNC or UNF threads, and tools at the 1/4" size and larger feature axial coolant capability.
High Ramp Precision Go/No-Go thread plug gages check the lower thread ramp point for possible ramp angle errors and are used along with standard Self-Lock Thread Plug Gages to verify thread profiles.
Self-Lock internal threads offer constant, maximum holding power under dynamic stress, even with repeated loosening and re-tightening. The ramp-shaped surface integrated into the thread profile creates the locking effect. Self-Lock technology provides larger tolerances for thread hole diameters and increases threading tool life for larger thread hole diameters.
Automated metalworking fluid control
The Will-Fill automated fluid control system can automatically fill, refill, analyze, and adjust the condition of cutting fluid. It analyzes and controls:
- Concentration of oil/water mix
- Coolant level
- Coolant temperature
- pH levels
- EC (water hardness)
- Oil usage
- Water usage
Will-Fill works with any metal cutting fluid and allows predefined settings and thresholds via a Wi-Fi or LAN dashboard. Continual updates allow remote monitoring of fluid conditions. Emails and alerts can be set to advise when thresholds are exceeded and the system takes corrective action. This information is captured and archived, allowing users to extract data and run reports for process evaluation.
Will-Fill fluid management can:
- Increase productivity
- Improve part quality
- Reduce water, oil consumption
- Extend cutting fluid life
- Maximize tool life
- Extend machine life
- Increase machining performance
- Reduce environmental footprint
- Minimize machine residue buildup
- Reduce health risks caused by contaminated fluids
Sealed panel mount connector
The compact, lightweight 369 series sealed panel mount connector is compatible with existing 369 connectors yet provides space and weight savings compared to traditional circular connectors.
Made of high-performance composite materials to meet low-smoke, toxicity, and flammability requirements, the connector’s electrical interfaces are fully sealed with an IP67 rating. The rectangular shape allows for easy stacking for space savings. It uses a push-in mounting and positive button latching with an audible click, and integrated panel latches easily clip the connector into a rectangular cut out, requiring no tooling to remove or repair.
The operating temperature range is -55°C to 175°C and durability rating is 500 matings.
