STG Aerospace launches ancillary lighting products within its liTeMood product range. Retrofitted aboard Air Europa Boeing 737-800s, the suite of LED plug-and-play ancillary lights are marketed to airlines currently flying with STG Aerospace’s mood lighting system.
The ancillary range offers consistency of light throughout the cabin while enhancing the passenger experience during the boarding, in-flight, and disembarking process. It also provides an enhanced working environment in the galleys and aisles for the flight crew.
The plug-and-play ancillary lights can be installed within minutes, without the need for specialist tools or modifications to the aircraft systems or operational procedures. Products include:
Over wing exit – A direct LED replacement for T5 fluorescent tubes
Recessed ceiling lighting, forward and aft entry door lights – Low profile LED units replace light/ballast with high color temperature lighting to create a modern perception of the cabin
Sidewall lenses – Restores old, yellowing lenses www.stgaerospace.com
Lockheed Martin awarded engine MRO contract by Frontier Airlines
Frontier Airlines has awarded Lockheed Martin Commercial Engine Solutions (LMCES) an eight-year, exclusive contract to perform engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) on its Airbus A319 and A320ceo CFM56-5 engines.
Under the agreement, services will be performed at the LMCES facility in Montréal, Canada. Initial delivery orders began in 1Q2016 and continue through 2023. www.lockheedmartinengines.com
Erichsen 343 hydraulic force gage
Designed for the aviation and aerospace industry, the Erichsen 343 hydraulic force gage from Ametek Sensors, Test, and Calibration (STC) is made of stainless steel and hermetically sealed into a closed circuit filled with hydraulic oil.
A large dial allows users to view loads from a distance, and an optional extension tube can be added if the dial needs to be viewed from a remote location. Optional digital indicators are available.
The center-hole design can be used to fit an adapter to secure the load being applied and allows accurate load application for compression and tension applications.
Unlike electronic load cells with digital indicators, hydraulic gages do not require a power source and are immune to electro static discharge (ESD) and transient voltages.
Models cover load ranges from 1kN (220 lb) to 2,500kN (560,000 lb) at an accuracy of 1.6% of full scale.
Other applications include hydraulic press clamp force verification, continuous measurement of axial forces, and monitoring bearing forces on lathes, boring machines, and extrusion presses. www.ametektest.com
