Sharp Industries introduces horizontal boring mill

The machines feature box type column, bed, and saddle designs for heavy cutting operations.


Torrance, California – Sharp Industries Inc. is introducing its new line of horizontal boring and milling machines. The machines feature box type column, bed, and saddle designs for heavy cutting operations. The X- and Y-axis are equipped with high precision ballscrews for fast and easy linear movements. The headstock, table, and saddle are locked by hydraulic systems for secured machining conditions. All major castings are made from the Meehanite casting process. 
 
Three sizes are currently available. 
  • Model KHM-120 has 47" x 47" x 31" travel
  • Model KHM-140 has 55" x 47" x 43" travel
  • Model KHN-180 has 70" x 55" x 47" travel
 
All models have a NT50 taper, 1,500rpm spindle, 12 speeds, and 10hp motor. Indexing tables are 24" x 24" and 32" x32", with 5° indexing increments.

Standard accessories include: 3-axis digital readout systems, hydraulic clamping, tapping function, fixed quill design, and power drawbar.
