Raytheon Technologies names business leaders

Km Industrial Machinery is MC Machinery dealer; Senior manager rejoins SMW Autoblok.

Following the April 3, 2020 merger of Raytheon Co. with United Technologies’ Collins Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney, Raytheon Technologies’ four business units will be led by:

Stephen J. Timm, Collins Aerospace president; most recently led the division’s avionics business of aviation electronics and information management technologies for commercial and military customers.

Christopher Calio, Pratt & Whitney president; previously president of P&W’s commercial engines business where he led development, program management, sales, customer support, and aftermarket services for jet engines, including the Geared Turbofan (GTF). Calio holds a law degree and served as general counsel for UTC Aerospace Systems, now Collins Aerospace.

Roy Azevedo, Raytheon Intelligence & Space president; most recently, president of Raytheon Co.’s Space and Airborne Systems business.

Wesley D. Kremer, Raytheon Missiles & Defense president; an electrical engineer and U.S. Air Force veteran, was formerly president of Raytheon Missile Systems and Integrated Defense Systems businesses.

Raytheon Technologies CEO Gregory J. Hayes held senior leadership roles at United Technologies Corp. (UTC), culminating with his appointment to CEO in 2014 and chairman in 2016. As CEO, Hayes reshaped UTC, divesting Sikorsky Aircraft in 2015, acquiring Rockwell Collins in 2018, spinning off Otis Elevator Co. and Carrier Corp. in 2020, and leading the merger of UTC’s aerospace businesses with Raytheon Co. to form Raytheon Technologies.

Niigata Machine appoints Realm Machine New England distributor

Elk Grove Village, Illinois-based Niigata Machine Techno USA Inc., appoints Realm Machine Co., West Hartford, Connecticut, as its exclusive New England machine tool distributor.

Realm Machine, established in 2012, supports Niigata customers throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Niigata, which recently expanded its North American headquarters, builds heavy-duty, precision horizontal machining centers and flexible manufacturing systems.

Km Industrial Machinery is MC Machinery dealer

MC Machinery Systems, headquartered in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, has named Km Industrial Machinery Inc. the Michigan dealer for its EDM/Machining division.

A third-generation family-run business, Km Industrial Machinery, Kalamazoo, Michigan, provides electrical discharge machines (EDMs), 5-axis milling, high-speed hard milling, turning, grinding, toolroom equipment, and EDM consumables. 

Senior manager rejoins SMW Autoblok

Shaun Thomas has rejoined rotational chuck, stationary workholding, and tooling manufacturer SMW Autoblok in Wheeling, Illinois, as technical operations senior manager. Thomas brings more than 15 years of experience and technical knowledge in engineering and workholding plus leadership and development to the role.

Prior to SMW Autoblok, Thomas worked as senior manager, engineering manufacturing for Kitagawa Northtech. He previously worked more than a decade at SMW Autoblok as engineering supervisor.
