Session Topic: Wireless Gages Take Data Collection to New Levels

Process and quality engineers know the importance of measurement data. Whether for process control to prevent bad parts through data feedback to the machining operation, or to document results to verify good parts, the importance of measurement data cannot be disputed. Over the past 50 years digital gaging has greatly improved both the amount and accuracy of data collected, and reduced the time required. In this session we will look at how the wireless revolution has improved the process and made the sharing of measured information faster and easier.

We will look at how new wireless gaging technologies can be combined to facilitate the easy collection of measured values, which can reduce gaging costs, make data more accessible, improve safety in the workplace, and make the measurement of parts in the machine much easier. We will also look at the potential of cloud-based data sharing so that production and quality processes can be monitored anywhere in the world.

Examples of all these benefits will be discussed and provided for the attendees to review.
