Session Topic: From Idea to Recycling –A Cutting Tool Management Process
This seminar will present ideas and technologies to manage cutting tools from cradle to grave, demonstrating how companies can impact productivity and cost with a process to manage cutting tools beyond the machine tool.
When you consider the major manufacturing technologies that you manage on a daily basis (material, machine, CAD, CAM, fixtures, coolant, and cutting tools), it’s most likely cutting tools that poses the highest level of variance in your process. When you think of cutting tool variables, you most likely think of the parameters utilized at the machine tool speed, feed, depth of cut, and width of cut.
A more detailed cutting tool management process should consider much more. Decisions to buy, program, store, utilize, and discard cutting tools are constantly taking place. Therefore, can drastically affect overall productivity and cost.
