Session Topic: Anticipating and Benefitting from Disruptive Supply Chain Technologies
The industrial manufacturing sector is becoming more demanding. Disruptive technologies such as e-commerce and additive manufacturing are creating new direct-from-manufacturer channels. The Industrial Internet of Things is enabling the development of smart factories and supply chains. Traditional supply chain processes and technologies are being rendered obsolete. More sophisticated supply chain networks are now required for optimum inventory management, product delivery, and aftersales support across the manufacturing and maintenance lifecycles.
Attendees will learn:
Mark Antonini
Customer Solutions
Director, Industrial/Automotive Sector
UPS
Mark Antonini and his team engage consultatively with customers within the Industrial/Manufacturing sector to position the value of UPS solutions and expertise to overcome barriers inhibiting growth or expansion.
Like many UPSers, Antonini began his UPS career in 1982 as a part-time employee in Chicago while attending college. Upon graduation in 1985, he accepted a promotion into full time management with the Business Development team. In this early role he readily adopted the principles of working collaboratively with customers, successfully employing creative methods which grew their business.
In 1998, Antonini joined UPS’s inaugural venture into e-commerce helping create and develop the new consultative sales team. In 2002, Antonini became sales director at UPS subsidiary ConnectShip, a Tulsa, Oklahoma-based shipping software company. In 2004, he rejoined core UPS in Customer Technology Marketing, leading teams researching and developing next generation technology products. He remained in the Atlanta assignment prior to accepting his current Chicagoland based role in late 2008.
Antonini and his three daughters reside in Palos Heights, Illinois. He holds a B.S. degree in computer information systems.
Empowering careers and commerce around the globe takes more than the concerted efforts of innovative thinkers, collaborative teammates, and incredible technology. It calls on the values, purpose, and mission that has driven UPS right from the start.
