
United Grinding held an auction of the newest CNC grinding machine from STUDER, the favoritCNC, during the IMTS show in September. The auction was held to benefit the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS). NIMS sets the standards for worker education and training in the metalworking industry and is dedicated to insuring the American workforce has the skills and knowledge required to successfully compete in the challenging global market. United Grinding recognizes the importance of the NIMS mission and seeks to provide support for the worthy organization.
The grinding machine being auctioned was painted by international airbrush artist Philipp Klopfenstein during the IMTS show in Chicago, resulting in a one of a kind favoritCNC cylindrical grinder. The artwork features the American flag and several Bald Eagles. Through the auction, United Grinding was able to raise $40,000 for NIMS.
