John Theall, Mission Systems Software Engineer I, Collins Aerospace, Binghamton, New York

How long have you been in the aerospace business? 2 months.

How did you become interested in aircraft? As a child, I would create hundreds of paper airplanes (and still do). I was fascinated by how raw materials like that could be folded or assembled so they actually stay in the air.

What is your favorite aircraft and why? The Space Shuttle Enterprise. My fascination with outer space and our universe, combined with it being named for the fictional starship made famous by Star Trek, make it my favorite.

Runners-up:

Frank Scully, General Manager, Beechhurst Industries Inc., Manassas Park, Virginia

John Herald, Manufacturing Engineer, The Boeing Co., Huntsville, Alabama
