Aerospace Manufacturing and Design welcomes all aircraft enthusiasts to join in the fun and NAME THAT PLANE! Each issue, a new aircraft will be featured in the Aviation Appreciation section. Given a photo and a clue box, readers are encouraged to guess which plane is being described and send in their answers to the AMD staff.

How long have you been in your current industry?
I have been in precision machining for 37 years.
How did you become interested in aircraft?
My grandfather built and flew
gas-engine balsa models from plans. I still have some of the planes
that he built more than 50 years ago.
What is your favorite aircraft?
Aircraft from WWII are my favorite and if I
had to pick one, it would be the P-51 Mustang with the Corsair and
Lightning as a close second.
