Name That Plane!

Aerospace Manufacturing and Design welcomes all aircraft enthusiasts to join in the fun and NAME THAT PLANE! Each issue, a new aircraft will be featured in the Aviation Appreciation section. Given a photo and a clue box, readers are encouraged to guess which plane is being described and send in their answers to the AMD staff.


The Aviation Appreciation Name That Plane contest drawing will take place on February 20, 2007. Please note the change of date.

How long have you been in your current industry?
I have been in precision machining for 37 years.

How did you become interested in aircraft?
My grandfather built and flew gas-engine balsa models from plans. I still have some of the planes that he built more than 50 years ago.

What is your favorite aircraft?
Aircraft from WWII are my favorite and if I had to pick one, it would be the P-51 Mustang with the Corsair and Lightning as a close second.
