Fuji Machine America Corp.'s ANW Series automated twin-spindle lathes perform simultaneous turning, drilling and milling with modularity, and are available in 4 models (ANW- 3000, ANW-3500, ANW-4100, ANW-5100) that accommodate heavy workloads, large machine envelopes and high machine powers and torques. Dual opposed spindles are mounted on the structurally engineered column for rigidity. Light and heavy machining is possible simultaneously on both spindles, eliminating pass-off time.
The standard equipped L292 swing arm robot provides flexibility in automating your manufacturing system. By using the Fuji robot pass-through concept that automates the machine-tomachine robot hand off, line efficiency is optimized. This 4-axis swing-arm robot can access the peripheral devices such as work stocker, out chute, out conveyor, measurement device, quality check chute, reject chute and orientation station at the front, back, left and right of the machine, minimizing the distance between machines. Defective parts do not go through to the next operation - the line stops automatically. The L292 swing arm robot can handle either shaft work or chuck work by changing the robot hand. This allows for a compact and flexible machine use.
The robot traveling section and machining section are completely isolated from each other so that vibration resulting from robot motion is not passed on to the machining area. The benefit is increased tool life and better micro finish. The machining section features double covers, keeping chips and noise from escaping outside.
The ANW's unique vertical lineup of the turret and spindle with the cutting point directly above the piece part at the 12:00 position allows for effective chip disposal and keeps chips from collecting in the turret area. A 90o bed/column allows for effective chip management as chips fall straight down from the cutting point. Combined with a Fuji chip conveyor, chips are cleared quickly and thoroughly.
Ideal for aerospace components, the operator-friendly ANW Series with dual spindles operates at 15hp - 60hp each, depending on which of the four models. An A2-6 spindle nose comes standard; an A2-8 or A2- 11 spindle nose is available as an option for larger size chucks (12 in. - 15 in.). The ANW Series new swing arm robot can handle a range of 11 lbs - 88 lbs (5kg - 40kg) of parts. The maximum Z-axis stroke ranges from 11.61 in. - 36.61 in. (295mm - 930mm).
These highly accurate machines employ Fuji integrated robot, Fuji workstocker, Fuji workholding, Fuji spindle, Fuji autogaging, and Fuji robot control— all from one source.
