FormControl X measuring and automation software is an efficient solution for operations using machine-integrated quality control of workpieces in series production. It accelerates manufacturing processes and makes them more transparent, and the quality and manufacturing costs of the finished workpieces are optimized. The software enables automated monitoring of machining processes in line with the principle of statistical process control (SPC). The process is managed based on the recorded measured values and previously defined warning and control limits. To make sure that this also works perfectly in unmanned operation and in cooperation with robot solutions, FormControl X offers an integrated approach with its alignment function. This feature detects the current workpiece position and alignment right after clamping and automatically adjusts the reference points of the machining program to the actual position of the workpiece. This makes reliable automated machining of parts with small allowances possible. FormControl X also prepares the recorded data in graphic form so it can be visualized and evaluated by the user using the web browsers of any end devices.

Six-flute end mill
Specifically designed for titanium and super alloys (ISO-S), the OptiLine six-flute solid-carbide end mill features a premium substrate and advanced tool geometry. The end mill’s asymmetrical variable helix and variable index flute configuration ensures enhanced stability during cutting operations and includes chip splitters designed for applications involving 2.5 x D cutting lengths. Refined cutting edges and Dragonskin coating technology improve chip control and reduce adhesion for longer tool life.
In the asymmetrical flute design, each tooth on a different helix angle delivers stability when machining a workpiece at varying angles.
OptiLine inch-type end mills, including the new six-flute, are manufactured at the company’s facility in Sacramento, California.
