The Mag-Drag Conveyor filters fine chips from ferrous metal cutting operations. Similar to a magnet pulling iron chips from a fluid mixture, Mag-Drag Conveyors filter troublesome chips of cast iron and other ferrous metals in machining applications to promote sustainable manufacturing.

The conveyors can be custom engineered to meet length and width specifications, ensuring a proper fit to almost any CNC metal cutting machine. The cleated stainless steel drag chain comes in 1.5" and 2.5" pitches in two types of design configurations with a completely detachable drag-chain design for ease of maintenance.

Mag-Drag conveyors are equipped with complete electricals and controls. The UVS EcoLogic control with Jam Manager is an available option. Jam Manager’s an automated program clearing minor jams for reduced machine downtime. The EcoLogic control provides speed and direction change, motor protection, intermittent on/off cycle programming, and Jam Manager all from a single unit.

Other available options to enhance overall filtration performance include the PermaClean filtration solution and FlexFiltration. PermaClean’s modularity allows it to be added with a downstream filtration system, keeping coolant and particulates in a constant state of agitation, suspending particles, and preventing them from settling. Particles continue through the filtration process until they’re virtually eliminated because of the continuous swirling motion.

FlexFiltration downstream filtration combines pre-engineered modules to filter difficult materials such as cast iron, steel, aluminum, plastic, and composites down to 10μm or less with a modular, adaptable platform. Delivering cleaner coolant to downstream filtration systems by using the Mag-Drag conveyor also reduces replacement of consumable filter elements.

Horizontal turning center

The GL 250 horizontal turning center comes with thermal compensation sensors to maintain stable, dimensional results even during long operation. The sensors provide accurate, real-time compensation compared to compensation based on pre-defined algorithms, delivering more accurate machining for extended periods when machine temperature increases.

The GL 250 has a maximum cutting diameter of 11" (282mm), and a Z travel of 23.6" (600mm). The machine’s designed for medium to high production environments and features high power, torque, and feed force, in addition to rigidity and precision from the monoblock base.

The GL 250 is constructed with durable roller ways on all axes for high rigidity. A built-in spindle motor with a chiller and direct drive servo-motors result in high response speed, accuracy, less vibration, and lower maintenance requirements. The tailstock is programmable and servo driven. The machine comes with a 12-station turret with a choice of fixed tools with a Romi disk, driven tools with a VDI or BMT disk, driven tools with Y-axis, or dual spindle with driven tools and Y-axis.

Adaptive scanning solution

Verisurf operates Renishaw equipped CNC CMMs through the Verisurf Device Interface (VDI) to find and scan undefined shapes, including prismatic geometry and complex free-formed profiles. Unlike passive scanning, which relies on a defined scan path, adaptive scanning continuously adjusts the scan path based on probe deflection. This allows the probe to explore and digitize the component automatically.

Using the Verisurf CMM Programming & Inspection suite, collected measurement data is processed into an intelligent CAD model using an easy Measure and Model workflow. The application captures missing features and surface data or reverse engineers complete components for engineering, machining, or additive manufacturing.
