The LoadMate Plus engineered solution offers easy-to-implement machine tending – automated loading and unloading parts or materials into a machining center.
Through flexible connectivity via Ethernet and easy programming through the Direct Robot Control (DRC) software feature of the M8 Series CNC controller, machine tending can benefit customers lacking experienced robot programmers.
In addition to DRC, almost any CNC machine can be connected to a shop floor via discrete I/O for CNC controls from other companies. Further support is available through the company’s trained engineers to service both robot and CNC.
Mitsubishi Electric Automation Inc.Absolute encoder interface
EnDat 3 absolute position encoder interface offers the benefits of previous versions but is faster and more robust, with simplified functional safety features.
The interface uses a 200kHz clock frequency, compared to 16kHz in previous versions, and has doubled its supported bandwidth, from 12.5Mb/s to 25Mb/s to transfer data more quickly. EnDat 3 has increased memory and storage capacity, and the ability to password-protect stored information. It leverages industry standards for functional safety, black channel, for easier implementation.
The encoder interface has reduced cabling requirements, with a 2-or 4-wire setup instead of the 8 wires previously needed. For robotics applications, EnDat 3 offers bus operation to further reduce cabling.
The interface supports an increased number of temperature sensors, to monitor temperatures anywhere, from a robotics arm to inside a cabinet. EnDat 3 is bi-directional, so it can support monitoring and diagnostics. It can be used for preventative maintenance, alerting the CNC when a fault is detected.
Ceramic endmill
Produced from XSYTIN-1, XSYTIN-360 offers the same high transverse rupture strength, resistance to thermal shock, and fracture toughness. The ability to withstand high bending moments provides exceptional performance in full slotting or side-milling with a high depth of cut. The material strength and stability allow XSYTIN-360 to be applied in conditions where other ceramic end mills have previously failed.
XSYTIN-360 features a unique geometry that breaks up harmonics, reduces cutting forces, and aids with chip evacuation to significantly extend tool life. It can be applied in roughing cuts in nickel- and cobalt-based alloys, steel, cast iron, and other challenging materials.
