GibbsCAM certified for Autodesk Inventor 2017
GibbsCAM 2016 software for programming CNC machine tools has been certified for Autodesk Inventor 2017 mechanical computer-aided design (CAD) software. Engineers and CNC programmers can use GibbsCAM 2016 to program parts for machining on CNC lathes, mills, turning centers, machining centers, and multi-tasking machines, directly from Inventor and Inventor CAD models.
GibbsCAM 2016 is certified for Inventor 3D mechanical design software under the Autodesk Certified Apps Program, marking the 16th consecutive year that GibbsCAM has been certified under the program.
GibbsCAM reads inventor part model (IPT) and inventor assembly (IAM) files, preserving all CAD, color information, hole features, and attributes assigned within Inventor to provide continuity in recognizing and communicating part and feature attributes. Alternatively, with the GibbsCAM Autodesk Inventor add-in, Inventor users can transfer files directly into GibbsCAM on the same workstation. Once machining processes are defined in GibbsCAM, they are automatically updated when the Inventor model is revised.
Users can additionally employ the GibbsCAM Plug-in for Autodesk Vault software to allow interaction between GibbsCAM and the Autodesk data management software.

Universal vise and pallet
The 125mm vise and 96mm Drop & Lock pallet work together for a universal, quick-change solution on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
The 125mm multi-axis, low-profile, self-centering vise features a compact footprint for quick-change pallets systems. Constructed from precision ground 4100 series steel for accuracy and repeatability, with the addition of pull studs, this vise is compatible with the Quick-Point system.
The 96mm Universal Drop & Lock pallet is compatible with Makro-Grip workholding products and Fixture Pro products. The pallet provides accuracy, versatility, and fast changeovers for manufacturing efficiency on multi-axis machines.

Portal-style 5-axis milling center
The Powermill travelling gantry, 5-axis milling center allows large workpiece loading on its stationary work table, from overhead or on either end of the machine. The machine’s universal milling head provides 6,000rpm, 38kW (S1) or 1,000N-m. Users can also choose a straight milling head with high-speed motorized spindles, or an indexable, 5-axis contouring milling head.

5-axis waterjet
The Edge X-5 waterjet system is available in format sizes up to 24ft x 13ft, cuts 3D parts, and bevels up to 50°.
The 5-axis waterjet system separates the motion system from the catcher tank, eliminating vibration and ensuring part quality. The waterjet is ball-screw driven and features direct-couple AC brushless digital servo motors and single- or double-carriages. Bearing components are protected with metal covers with brush seals and positive air pressure.
The Edge X-5 is available in sizes from 5ft x 5ft (1,500mm x1,500mm) to 24ft x 13ft (7,300mm x 3,900mm). An optional second cutting head can be added to double productivity.

Gas-fired, walk-in oven
No. 1003 is a gas-fired, 500°F (260°C) walk-in oven used for drying molded fiber parts. Workspace dimensions measure 48" x 48" x 72" workspace featuring a 800,000BTU/hr modulating natural gas burner to heat the oven chamber.
A 4,200cfm, 3hp recirculating blower provides vertical upward airflow from a duct beneath the loading truck to the workload.
The walk-in oven includes a digital programming temperature controller, digital shut down timer with audible alarm, fused disconnect switch, and 8-point internal thermocouple jack panel.

Vertical workholding vises
SideWinder vises mount directly to the back of 6" or 8" Kurt vises, simplifying configuration of two or more vises. Providing vertical workholding without interfering with an existing host vise or the machine spindle, the vises reduce setup time for second operations and improve throughput and productivity levels. SideWinder can be left attached to the host vise without machining interference, featuring easy removal and reattachment with a locating pin, eliminating the need to re-indicate the setup. Vises are available in two models, SDW25 II and SDW35.

Polymeric capillary sealer
Blue Dichtol polymeric capillary sealer for castings and composites allows 100% visual inspection to ensure that porosity has been sealed. The sealer impregnates micropores and hairline cracks without vacuum or pressure, forming a protective barrier to gasses and liquids that is not invisible when cured. Blue Dichtol penetrates up to 0.004" into the coating to prevent corrosion of the metal substrate. The solution dries in minutes and cures at ambient temperature, significantly increasing machinability and dampening vibration.
