The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) allowed aerospace and defense company L3Harris Technologies to complete its acquisition of Aerojet Rocketdyne. Some members of the U.S. Congress argued the deal could impact operations at Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and Boeing, which depend on products only Aerojet provides, in propulsion systems, missile, and hypersonics technologies.

Ross Niebergall will serve as president of the segment, now known as Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies company.

In December 2022, L3Harris agreed to purchase Aerojet Rocketdyne for $4.7 billion, after Lockheed Martin withdrew its offer to acquire Aerojet when the FTC sued to block the move as anti-competitive. https://www.l3harris.com; https://www.l3harris.com/company/aerojet-rocketdyne
