Wellington, Florida – KLX Inc., a distributor and value-added service provider of aerospace fasteners and consumables has acquired Herndon Aerospace & Defense LLC, a supply chain management and consumables hardware distributor serving military depot and commercial aerospace aftermarket customers.
Amin Khoury, chairman and chief executive officer of KLX stated, “The acquisition of Herndon expands our capability to provide comprehensive aftermarket supply chain management solutions to a broader portfolio of aftermarket customers. We expect the integration of the Herndon business into the existing KLX aerospace distribution platform to yield substantial synergies.”
Herndon Aerospace & Defense was launched in November 2015 doing business under its two operating companies: Herndon Products LLC and Polygon Aerospace LLC.
Scott Herndon, president and CEO of Herndon Aerospace & Defense. said at the time, “This action comes as a result of a goal set by Herndon Products, Inc. (HPI) to grow by seeking a balanced portfolio of both commercial aviation and defense customers. It follows several recent acquisitions and strategic partnerships:
- In 2012, HPI acquired Intercoastal based in Kent, Washington
- In 2013, HPI and Polygon Aerospace established an affiliate/ownership arrangement
- In July 2015, HPI acquired MS Inserts & Fasteners Corp. and Thread Kits Co.
Herndon Aerospace & Defense conducts business from eight U.S. locations: O’Fallon, Missouri (headquarters); Kent, Washington; Houston, Texas; Torrance, California; Billerica, Massachusetts; Sedona, Arizona; Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; and Scranton, Pennsylvania.
