The high-speed JE80S horizontal machining center with a 300-tool matrixstyle automatic tool changer (ATC) and 18-pallet flexible manufacturing system (FMS) features 31.5" x 31.5" x 31.5" travels atop 500mm pallets. The standard dual-contact 40-taper spindle ramps up to 15,000rpm in 1.9 seconds, develops 24.8hp at 1,061rpm, and achieves rapid traverse rates of 3,543ipm at 1G acceleration.
The ATC features the industry's fastest average pre-select time of 6 seconds and can safely and accurately fetch tools up to 26 lb, 6.3" diameter and 18.8" long. The FMS is capable of storing both machine pallets and storage baskets interchangeably. It is designed with a unitized steel frame and comes standard with two levels of pallets. A third level can easily be field retrofitted. The standard module comes in a 12 or 18 pallet configuration with expansion modules available. Additional JE80S machining centers can be added per each module.
