Hexcel to advance Archer Aviation production capabilities

Proposed relationship would enable Archer to mitigate supply chain risks for production of its all-electric aircraft.

Advanced lightweight composites technology company Hexcel plans to supply high-performance carbon fiber and resin systems – prepreg – needed to fabricate composite parts for Archer Aviation Inc. production aircraft.

Archer, based in Palo Alto, California, is designing and developing electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft for use in urban air mobility.

Under the proposed relationship, Hexcel would provide lightweight carbon fiber and highly toughened resin systems that provide both strength and durability while reducing overall aircraft weight and enhancing aircraft safety.
