The Liebherr LC 280 machines gears and shafts with a workpiece diameter up to 280mm and a shaft length up to 500mm. The gear hobbing machine’s steep bed base prevents chip deposits, and an optional stainless-steel housing reduces the thermal influence of hot, dry chips.

The hob head machines workpieces up to a module of 5mm, and the 2,250rpm spindle speed is 50% faster than the previous model. The shifting length is now 200mm, and the maximum tool diameter is 150mm.

Using indexable carbide insert cutters, the process time for certain applications can be reduced by up to 30%, and the tool costs per workpiece can also be lowered.

The ringloader internal automation system allows workpieces up to 15kg to be automatically loaded and unloaded as fast as a double-table machine.

The LH Geartec touch interface guides the user for process and retooling-cycle programs. It can be individually configured and supports users with guidance that detects and eliminates faults and offers suggested values.
