The MWR120G multi-tasking CNC horizontal lathe blends processing capability in a compact body with front-facing twin spindles equipped with live tool Y-axis and milling function for a total production environment in one machine. Two turrets each have 10 stations for live tooling. A directly coupled milling motor enhances power transfer to the tool tip.
Designed for automation, the machine’s integrated robotic gantry loader enables unattended workpiece handling for all-in-one processing of complex shapes from raw to finished parts, maximizing efficiency without changeovers or secondary operations. The loader’s carbon-fiber reinforced Y-axis beam and a lighter X-axis carriage enables 9,400ipm in X-travel and 6,900ipm in Y-axis travel, speeding loading/unloading while maintaining 6kg (13.2 lb) part/chuck capacity. Reduced chuck open/close cycle time, faster opening/closing of gantry shutters, and faster turret indexing minimize non-cutting time.
Parallel spindles reduce the machine’s footprint, making it smaller than a machine with a bar feeder, for faster processing with the same part capacity.
When combined with a bin-picking cobot, served by a Muratec A4-AGV driverless forklift, the MWR120G can provide extended unattended production.
