Engraving For Workpieces Made Easy

The NASA Authorization Act of 2008 provides much needed funding for space programs and aeronautics research and development, and gives the next administration a clear sense of congressional support for the future of the agency.

Mori Seiki has developed a text engraving function that is conversational input on MAPPS III. This function (option) can be used to engrave company or product names onto workpieces. The characteristics of this function are as follows:

  1. Easy Programming
By inputting letters and setting the letter size, font size, font style, font and machining conditions on a MAPPS III conversational program screen, the tools and cutting conditions will be automatically determined. Since it is conversational, there will be no need to input coordinates or make macro programs. The NC program can be made easily in a short amount of time.
  2. Free Selection of Letters
The letter size, font size, font style (six variations), font, spacing and layout (line or arc) can be set up so that letters are engraved just as the customer wishes. The letter size can be easily changed by editing the settings. Mori Seiki will suggest necessary machines and useful functions for customers, and will do our best to support factories from all aspects.

This function is available for half-size letters and special symbols (periods, commas, under bars) for milling on a planar surface. moriseiki.com
