D-Link repair solution announced

When SpectraLux Avionics dissolved in 2022, airlines were left without a repair solution for D-Link datalink systems. A diminishing supply of spares risked grounding 300+ aircraft.

In response, Austin, Texas-based global avionics services supplier L2 Aviation and Software Development Alternatives (SDA) established a repair facility with a component stockpile capable of repairing 20 units per month.

“The D-Link system is highly reliable and robust enough to operate for years to come but they do occasionally break and need software updates to remain effective,” says Dave Dodson, SDA founder and president.

“We’re in a unique position to team up with SDA as the original software developer of the D-Link system and owner of the intellectual property, which allows our specialized teams to create an effective and reliable repair,” says L2 Aviation COO Tony Bailey. https://www.l2aviation.com; https://www.s-d-a-inc.com

Commercial aircraft services market value to double by 2042

Airbus expects the commercial aircraft services market to nearly double in value to $255 billion by 2042, according to its latest Global Services Forecast (GSF). Rebounding air traffic and demand for more digitally enabled and connected aircraft are driving this momentum.

The GSF foresees more than 17,000 aircraft being replaced between now and 2042, increasing opportunities to reuse, repair, and recycle.

Airbus expects the maintenance market to grow from $108 billion to $210 billion, the market to enhance aircraft to grow from $11 billion to $28 billion, and the training/operation market from $11 billion to $17 billion. https://www.airbus.com
