DMG MORI to move US headquarters to Chicago

Relocation from Hoffman Estates suburb will put machine tool maker near Illinois Institute of Technology.

Chicago, Illinois – DMG MORI USA plans to move its North American headquarters from the Northwest Chicago suburb Hoffman Estates close to the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chicago.

"Being nearby the local faculties and students will promote synergy effects in research and development of new technologies on the one hand, and recruiting of young talents will be easier on the other," explains James V. Nudo, president of DMG MORI USA INC.

A large showroom will be set up at the new location, giving DMG MORI the opportunity to demonstrate a representative cross-section of its product portfolio.

DMG MORI will provide students the opportunity to explore technological and innovative developments together.

DMG MORI USA and IIT are currently looking for a suitable new location near the campus. Meanwhile, the machine tool manufacturer is also seeking opportunities for more cooperation already at this early stage. A temporary office at the IIT will help DMG MORI to work together more closely with the faculties and students.

DMG MORI USA INC. headquarters moved into the Hoffman Estates location in 2009. The Chicago Technical Center at the current headquarters in Hoffman Estates will be continued by DMG MORI USA. DMG MORI will open the North American Engineering & Automation Center at this site. This allows DMG MORI USA to concentrate even more intensively on the development of customer-oriented automation and manufacturing solutions.
