DLA-spec base metal electrode MLCCs

Motor feedback encoders; 18Gpx/sec high-speed camera; PMDC motor, planetary gear motors; PSM connector series; Small fiber optic position sensor; SiC MOSFETs, diodes.

Space-level X7R base metal electrode (BME) multi-layer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) with M and T reliability levels are approved to the Defense Logistics Agency’s (DLA’s) MIL-PRF-32535 specification. They exhibit higher constant voltage (CV) capabilities than precious metal electrode (PME) MLCCs.

X7R BME MLCCs deliver a 39x increase in capacitance compared to standard 100V, 1812 MIL-PRF-123 and MIL-PRF-55681 MLCCs, reducing circuit board space, weight, and component count while meeting DLA requirements for reliable performance in space applications. The series also features Flexiterm termination technology, which allows for more board flexure than standard terminations, protecting against thermal and mechanical stresses during assembly and throughout component lifetimes.

The series is available in seven case sizes spanning 0402 to 2220 and rated for 16V to 100V and 2.2nF to 22µF. Applications for the series include input-output filtering and bulk storage in switch mode power supplies (SMPS) within space and satellite communications and launchers, military aircraft, and defense, weapons, and radar systems.

Motor feedback encoders

SES/SEM70/90 motor feedback encoders, offered in 25mm and 55mm diameters, use holistic sensing capacitive technology, isolating them from external influences such as electromagnetic interference and humidity. Compact designs save space and weight and lower maintenance costs, while high shock and vibration resistance make them more rugged. They can be mounted directly onto the shaft without additional mounting tools, making timing belts or couplings unnecessary.

Single and multiturn versions are available. The mechanical multiturn function takes additional revolution measurements without the need for additional components such as external batteries and cables. The mechanical aspect eliminates loss of the absolute position due to a dead battery.

18Gpx/sec high-speed camera

The Phantom v1840 ultra-high-speed camera uses a custom complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) 4 Megapixel (Mpx) sensor to capture 12-bit images at a speed of 4,510 frames per second (fps) at 2,048 x 1,952 resolution and 8,570fps at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

Data binning in standard and high-speed modes improves sensitivity and frame rates, and bright field (BF) mode increases the maximum attainable signal-to-noise ratio for a cleaner image in daylight sky background or LED back-lit applications.

PSM connector series

Power sub miniature (PSM) connectors maximize power performance while minimizing system weight and size. PSM connectors have the size and weight of a SubMiniature version A (SMA) connector and the power handling capabilities of a Threaded Neill–Concelman (TNC) connector, per MIL-PRF-39012 and MIL-STD-348. This series is space qualified per MIL-PRF-39012 and ESCC 3402 and suitable for high-altitude platforms and thermal vacuum environments.

The hermetic, multipaction- and corona-free design product range includes various cable connectors, flanged/panel mount connectors, and adaptors for a compatible solution in new and existing systems.

Small fiber optic position sensor

The MR430 fiber optic position sensor, passive rotary encoder has non-metallic construction suitable for high voltage, RFI, microwave radiation, or magnetic field operating environments. Its size 11(1.1" diameter) form factor makes it suitable for small robotic or actuator mechanisms.

The encoder offers 25-bit resolution (13-bit single turn + 12-bit multi-turn) with an update rate of 850µs and ability to operate interference-free across distances up to 30m (100ft).

The absolute encoder system consists of the MR430-1 DIN rail mount controller and MR431 rotary sensor. The controller offers several built-in interfaces including SSI, RS485/Modbus RTU, Digital Set Point, and programmable 4mA to 20mA and ±10V analog outputs.
