"DTL has played a key role in the creation and perfection of a wide variety of Mori Seiki's most impressive innovations," says Dr. Masahiko Mori at DTL's ground breaking ceremony this past October in Davis, CA.

Digital Technology Laboratory (DTL), a subsidiary of Mori Seiki, has grown over 200% in the past year, currently boasting more than 50 employees. The new facility will contain 45,000ft2 with over 10,000ft2 of showroom and R&D space, and room to house over 100 engineers.

DTL was founded in 2000 and its goal is to create high performance and low-cost solutions for Mori Seiki and its customers by providing innovative analysis methodologies, advanced mechanical design techniques, and high performance software solutions. Four areas of concentration are: Internal Software, Application Software, Analysis, and Advanced Design.

DTL develops processes and systems by utilizing the latest information technologies to reduce machine tool development time, to improve product quality, and to develop software solutions in order to fully utilize Mori Seiki machine tools.

"By introducing innovative products, we can help increase the labor market," explains Adam Hansel, president, DTL. "Productivity gains are the most important thing, and that's what DTL does best. By working to create intelligent systems, we in turn work to help our customers."

The new DTL facility is currently scheduled to open in October 2008.
