CFM, IATA reach settlement

GE/Safran aero-engine joint venture CFM International (CFM) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) have settled a disagreement concerning CFM’s maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) policies and activities.

CFM will publish its Conduct Policies and Implementing Measures, specifying its product support policy and guidelines on licensing, warranties, servicing, technical support, repairs, communication, and contracting. Confirming and clarifying CFM’s aftermarket practices should facilitate awareness of CFM’s principles with its customers and support IATA’s intent to expand such policies to other stakeholders.

Allegiant Air picks Honeywell

Honeywell has won exclusive maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) contracts for Allegiant Air’s power and avionics systems. The five-year agreement across Allegiant’s Airbus A319 and A320 fleets includes repair and overhaul services for the airline’s current Honeywell 131-9A auxiliary power units (APUs) and retrofits to 17 aircraft flying non-Honeywell APUs.

The two-year avionics pact includes maintenance and repair services for Honeywell cockpit technology components including the flight management system, communication and navigation equipment, and inertial components.

All MRO work for avionics and APUs will be completed at certified Honeywell facilities.

Honeywell recently shipped its 6,000th 131-9A APU. This puts the number of production APUs from the 131-9 family at more than 13,000 units, which have operated for more than 100 million flight hours. https://aerospace.honeywell.com

Aviall to distribute Cleveland Wheels & Brakes

The Aircraft Wheel & Brake Division (AWBD) of Parker-Hannifin Corp.’s Parker Aerospace has a five-year master distributor agreement with Boeing subsidiary Aviall for its Cleveland Wheels & Brakes product line. Aviall will forecast, warehouse, and market through its network, including Parker AWBD’s former direct distributors.

“This master distributor agreement ensures worldwide stock availability of our Cleveland Wheels and Brakes products,” says Tom Dorinsky, business team leader for Parker AWBD. “Fixed-base operators (FBOs) and repair stations can still order genuine Cleveland replacement parts through the distributor of their choice.”

Gulfstream awarded U.S. Air Force fleet support contract

The U.S. Air Force has awarded General Dynamics’ Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. a 7-year, $594.4 million contract to provide contractor logistics support services (CLS) for the Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army, and U.S. Coast Guard C-20 and C-37 fleets.

Mente Group practice to address talent shortage

Aviation advisory firm Mente Group has formed a talent management business to address shortages of pilots, mechanics, and support personnel for its business aviation clients.

Mente Talent Management will provide personnel resources to support aircraft fleets, including flight department startups and interim management, personnel placements, and compensation and retention studies.

Launch customers include a defense contractor and a consumer products manufacturer flying internationally.
