Carbide drills, with the RT 100 X Point drill series, incorporate a faceted-style point geometry with a new flute profile. In addition, the RT 100 X Point incorporates the newest generation of micro-thin film coatings to dramatically improve tool life and performance in a wide variety of materials.
The RT 100 X drill has an innovative point design that optimizes the chip formation characteristics of most materials while reducing the amount of tool wear caused by thermal and mechanical wear. The flute profile is designed to provide the maximum amount of coolant directly to the cutting zone while also aiding in chip evacuation. In addition, Guhring offers the X Point series with our newest micro-thin film PVD hard coating called nano-FIREX.
The RT100 X Point drill is offered as a coolant fed design in three stocked standard lengths: 3xD/series 2477; 5xD/series 2479; and 7xD/series 4044.
